Google My Business arrived in June 2014,
replacing the Google Places for Business and Google+ Local dashboards.
Since then, over 150 million local businesses use this platform to connect with their customers.
Google has rolled out more features to improve
Google My Business (GMB).
The aim is to help businesses make their Profiles
unique and descriptive just like their customer queries on search.
Google My Business New Features:
Welcome Offers
Customers love deals and discounts.
With GMB, you will now be able to reward your
customers with welcome offers.
That means you can convert
first-time shoppers into repeat customers.
Short Names and URLs
Say goodbye to longer names and URLs.
Starting today, you will be able to claim a
short name and URL for your business.
This will help you refer customers
back to your Google My Business Profile.
Google says that it will soon add the
‘search short names’ features in Maps.
Cover Photos and Logos
Add a cover photo to showcase
your awesome personality on GMB.
Use the logo feature to get more attention.
The logo feature will be available to those who
have completed the core information on their Profile.
Photo Displays
Photos on your Business Profile will now
appear instantly and more prominently.
Soon, you will also be able to use Photo Captions.
New Website
Google is also launching a website where you can
download and order custom assets such as stickers.
Google will also highlight the top 5% of businesses in a
particular category with the “Local Favorite” designation.
Digital and physical badges of honors are on way as well.
Cool features, right?
Google My Business new features will definitely
help you connect better with your audiences.
